Point of Sale

Sell Wholesale and Retail From One POS

A lot of Lebanese shops quietly run two businesses at the same counter. A phone-accessories store sells one charger to a walk-in customer, then sells fifty to a reseller from Tripoli at a different price. A grocery serves families and small dekkans. Until now that meant a mental price list, a second sheet of paper, or a calculator on the side. YellowPOS now lets you set a proper wholesale price per product and flip the whole cart to bulk pricing with a single switch.

The problem: two customers, two prices, one counter

If you sell in volume, you already know the pain. Your retail price is on the shelf, but your regulars and resellers buy at a lower per-unit rate. Cashiers end up memorising "the wholesale price" for dozens of items, or discounting by eye at checkout. That's slow, it's inconsistent between staff, and it quietly eats your margin when someone rounds the wrong way. Applying a blanket percentage discount doesn't fix it either — your wholesale margins are rarely the same across every product.

How wholesale pricing works in YellowPOS

It comes down to two simple steps.

1. Set a wholesale price on your products. When you add or edit a product, alongside the usual Price and Sale Price you'll see a Wholesale Price field. Enter the per-unit price you charge bulk buyers for that item. You only fill it in for the products you actually sell wholesale — everything else is left as-is.

2. Flip the switch at the POS. Once at least one product has a wholesale price, a Wholesale pricing switch appears in the point-of-sale order panel. Turn it on and the entire cart re-prices to wholesale rates instantly; turn it off and everything returns to retail. You can toggle it at any point during a sale, even after items are in the cart.

One switch, the whole cart

The switch doesn't just change new items — it re-prices every line already in the order. Add ten products at retail, realise the customer is buying for their shop, flip the switch, and all ten drop to their wholesale price in one move. There's no need to remove and re-add anything or clear the cart and start over.

Products that don't have a wholesale price simply stay at retail, so a mixed basket is handled correctly with zero mental math. Variant options (size, color, and the like) keep their add-on pricing on top of the wholesale base, exactly as they do at retail.

It stays out of the way until you need it

If you never sell wholesale, you'll never see the switch — it only shows up once you've actually set a wholesale price on a product, and it sits quietly in the order panel rather than crowding the main screen. Cashiers who only ring up retail sales aren't distracted by a control they don't use, and the ones who do bulk orders have it a tap away.

Your online store is untouched

Wholesale pricing lives entirely at the point of sale. Your public storefront, QR menu, and booking page always show your normal retail prices — walk-in web customers never see a wholesale rate. This keeps your consumer pricing clean and public while your bulk pricing stays a private, in-store decision your staff control.

Why this matters for a Lebanese business

  • Consistent bulk pricing. Every cashier charges the same wholesale price, so your margins don't depend on who's at the register.
  • Faster checkout. No calculator, no second price sheet, no discounting by eye — one tap and the cart is correct.
  • Accurate records. The order stores exactly what was charged, so your reports and profit figures reflect real wholesale sales, not guesses.
  • Serve both markets. Run retail and B2B from the same YellowPOS account, on the same device, with the same stock — no separate system.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell at both retail and wholesale prices from the same POS?

Yes. In YellowPOS you set a normal retail price and an optional wholesale price on each product. At the point of sale there's a Wholesale pricing switch — leave it off for walk-in customers and flip it on when you're serving a reseller or a bulk order. The same product, the same screen, two price levels.

How do I set a wholesale price for a product?

Open any product in Products, and next to the regular Price and Sale Price fields you'll find a Wholesale Price field. Enter the lower per-unit price you charge bulk buyers and save. You only need to fill it in for the products you actually sell wholesale.

Does turning on wholesale pricing change my online store?

No. Wholesale pricing is a point-of-sale feature only. Your online store, QR menu, and booking page always show your normal retail prices to customers. The wholesale switch affects the current in-store order and nothing else.

What happens to a product that has no wholesale price when the switch is on?

It keeps its normal retail price. The toggle only re-prices products that actually have a wholesale price set, so a mixed cart of wholesale and retail-only items charges each one correctly with no manual math.

Can I switch an order to wholesale after I've already added items?

Yes. Flipping the switch re-prices the whole cart instantly — every eligible line jumps to its wholesale price, and flipping it back returns everything to retail. You can decide at any point during the sale without clearing the cart.

Try it on your next bulk order

Add a wholesale price to a few of your best-selling products, then open the POS and watch the switch appear. If you're still setting things up, our guide to the point of sale walks through the register, and the post on dual-currency (USD/LBP) pricing pairs well with wholesale for shops that quote in both.
