How to Send Professional Quotations to Customers in Lebanon
A price typed into a WhatsApp chat is easy to ignore, easy to dispute, and easy to forget. Here's how to send clean, numbered quotations that make your business look serious — and help you win more of the jobs you quote.
Before most sales in Lebanon — a custom fit-out, a bulk order, an installation, a design job — the customer asks the same thing: "How much?" Too often the answer goes back as a number in a chat or a figure scribbled on paper. It works until the customer compares you to a competitor who sent a proper document, or until they come back a month later expecting the same price you never wrote down. A real quotation fixes both.
Why a real quotation wins work
A numbered quotation does things a WhatsApp message can't. It presents your business name, tax number, and a clear breakdown of what the price covers, so the customer trusts it. It puts a validity date on the offer, which quietly encourages a decision. And it gives the deal a reference you can track — so when the customer says yes, you know exactly what was agreed. For anyone who prices before they sell, that professionalism is often what tips a hesitant customer into a paying one.
What belongs on the quotation
Keep it complete but simple: a unique quotation number, the date and a valid until date, your business name and tax number, the customer's details, an itemised list with quantity and unit price for each line, any tax or discount, and the total. The validity date is the part people forget — and it's the part that protects your margin when costs move.
Creating a quotation in YellowPOS
In your dashboard, open Quotations and click New Quotation. YellowPOS suggests the next number automatically (like QUO-0001), but you can type your own. Choose the customer, pick the currency, set the date and a validity date, then add each line item — a description, quantity, and unit price. You can type free text or pull in an existing product to auto-fill the price. Add tax or a discount if needed, and the totals update as you go. Save, and the quote is ready to print or download. The full walkthrough is in the Quotations guide.
Quoting in USD and LBP
Because prices in Lebanon move between dollars and lira, every quotation is issued in a currency you choose, with the currency code shown next to each amount. The customer sees exactly what the job will cost and in which currency — no ambiguity, no "did you mean dollars?" a week later.
Track it from sent to accepted
Every quotation carries a status: Draft, Sent, Accepted, Declined, or Expired. Update it as the conversation moves, and your Quotations list becomes a simple pipeline — you can see at a glance which quotes are still open and which you've won, without keeping a separate spreadsheet.
Getting started
Send your next price as a real quotation instead of a chat message. Create one in a couple of minutes, download the PDF, and send it over — you'll look more professional and close more of what you quote. Not sure whether to send a quotation or an invoice?
